LOUD&PROUD vol.252 〜BLASDEAD 20周年記念〜

Howdy, sailors...
Just a few lines to report a quick raid to LOUD&PROUD vol.252 〜BLASDEAD 20周年記念〜 held as usual at Kichijouji's CRESCENDO live house. It was a gig to celebrate the 20th anniversary of BLASDEAD, a band originary from here around.

Tonight on the stage
BLASDEAD / HELLHOUND / IRON THUMB / KILLING FROST (order from the back). Great music and great performance by everybody, as usual. Needless to say that Cpt. was there to recharge his battery with some 'classic' new stuff, from his beloved HELLHOUND. By the way, congratulations to Crossfire for his newborn metal-girl!

New Album isn't ready yet, but we got electrified by a brand new track, fittingly titled METAL SHOCK...! And I can assure you, it really was! To mention also a new entry in the line-up: Swordmaster has left the band to follow his path (all the best to him!) and it has been replaced by AFTERZERO pounding bassist Joji... With a broken arm at his first gig! Apparently, to get closer to ACCEPT, at Loud Park, he fell and got injured...! But also that way, he was able to grind his axe as expected! When we say 100% metal dudes!

Some of the pics.... below.

Cool stuff!

Long time, no post...
But this one is mandatory!
Check out this new fu*king cool Italian band called AXEVYPER.
New Wave of Classic Heavy Metal.... at unsurpassed level!
Everything in it is going to blow you sky high! If you don't believe me check out 'Poserkiller', which is a brutal copy-cat of Running Wilde most catchy rythm & sound. Singing, production and tunes are magic!
Get yourself a copy and have fun! (no links in here.. sorry)

Live Report

Sailors!
Long time no post! But more than anything, long time no gig!
As mentioned earlier, a series of unexpected commitments came around months ago, keeping the Cpt. away from 'pirate' duty... A trend that unfortunately does not seem to end yet.
But, don't worry, from time to time I will try to keep you up-to-date with what's happening here around.

For now, just a few shots and a very short - yet mandatory - review&report on the new AFTERZERO album. You already know Cpt. loves these young fella'. I introduced them to you in the past with an EP. All freaking good stuff, definitely not for pacemaker carrier listener...

August, 28th at CRESCENDO, we got "LIGHTNING vs. AFTERZERO", an event that witnessed a kind of friendly 'competition' between the two named bands, plus a series of opener.
No doubt in Cpt.'s mind that despite both AFTERZERO and LIGHTNING are awesome performers with all the right numbers concerning technique, power, precision, energy, there was ABSOLUTELY no match! And you could pretty much get it from the ordeal and the sweat of the crowd...! Cpt. got even a busted neck from a too harsh long-lime -no-banging come-back! Too bad! But it was too much fun. Awesome!

The live was from their new CD, Down of Doom. Seven burning tracks (not many, indeed, but very worthy) for a relentless 40 minutes of row power. The mighty titletrack that opens the tortures is a magnificent starter; a first powerful blow. Dogen's furious screaming, Ryuta's crippling drumming and the flesh ripping axe work of Hiroki, Kenji and Yoji will do the rest of the job, nailing you down until the very last second of play. Absolutely a must in every library. Listen to the Cpt.: spare the money of the new MAIDEN disc and get their one, instead! It is totally worth it! And Cpt. too is credited on CD...
