DEADLOCK-Manifesto (2008)
This is a freaky fine piece of music (Cpt. loves disco/techno-like metal... Ex. Blood Stain Child)! It's a while I have it in the chest, but yesterday spotting it at the pirate market (finally out here too), I rediscovered it again!
Dudes from Germany providing you here a pounding house beat mixed with MDM grooves and lyrical (cynical?) references from the beginning to the end. Atmospheric keyboard, mechanical/animal drumming, enormous variation between insolence, melody, beauty, sharp solos (rap & sax inserts in it!). The huge gap between the pitch-black shrieking by Johannes Prem and the soft as velvet, poppy vocals of singering Sabine Wenger is really cool. And the vocals by Wenger are real kick. Christian Älvestam (ex-Scar Symmetry) drops by to do some vocals in ‘Dying Breed’ which makes the vocal variation on ‘Manifesto’ even bigger. Enjoy it!
