One, two, three...

Three more pieces for your chest of treasures. They were relatively new to me, but already after the first spin, I decided I wanted them with in my cargo of ingots. I ordered them by increasing thoughness.

EDEN'S CURSE-Second Comming (2008) [Heavy M.]

I'm always skeptical about so-labelled melodic metal bands, but this is really good! Second full length album for these Britons, mixing Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Victory, Loudness-like sounds and shreds. Melodic, but no way AOR, it'S definitely a metallic product: lightweight where needed, but with intense power, awesome guitar riffs and tremendous production, multi layer backing vocals.

ADORNED BROOD-Noor (2008) [Folk M.]

This is a freaky nice example of how folk-metal should be to catch the Cpt. These dudes from Germany play a mixture of MDM/Thrash/Symphonic M. with various & cool rhytm changes and an absolutely original vocalist, switching in no time from harsh old-thrasshy screaming to chorussing and melodic singing. Well... OK, you get some accordion, flutes and a a few passages in German that may slow down your pathos. But just when you start getting pissed, you get your ass kicked up again for good. Anyway great tunes and melodies.

BESATT-Triumph of Anthecrist (2007) [Black M.]

Now, usually Black Metal (read it as New Wave of Black Metal) it's something that make the Cpt. really shit... both tunes & lyrics. But for some mistake of the destiny I happened to stumble upon this album, and I have to say I got addicted to it. Originary from Poland, just like Vader (which on the short I can also enjoy) they usually play though Black M. Yet this disc lacks all my most irritating elements. Instead displaying an old Venom-like sound & singing imprinting, with a drumming debording more on death/thrash and an "understandable" melody, it really grabs me. Of course I have to ignore the lyrics...! But, shits... happens!
