Still alive & kickin'! Don't worry!
Shoving down your throat a couple of new treasures, just to keep you busy and used to good tunes! Cpt. is fighting his demons again lately and not quite in the mood for concerts (should go to HELLHOUND'S gig tonight, but have not decided yet... besides I cancelled THRASH DOMINATION and probably LOUD PARK too this year). Anyway...
LETTER 7-Follow the Light (2008): very nice Melodic/Traditional M. from Arizona. Everything in it hit you in the right spots, without cheesiness].
BATTLELORE-The Last Alliance (2008 PROMO): guess you already know them. Quite fine and attractive work (better than the previous), but you need to be in the mood for it: alternation of slow and meolodic tempos with female vocals and MDM speedups. Fuckers, on't bust my balls for the voice over, here and there,... Enjoy it or buy it!]
SLYTRACT-Explanation: Unknown (2008) : quite original death/thrash from Hungary. Don't let yourself mislead by their origin: this is a very fine piece of artillery! Cleand and powerful sound; punding rythms; cool vocals. Enjoy or die!

ANTHRAX, '08 New Strain, Kawasaki 15/08
"It's a madhouse!"
What a better way to celebrate Cpt. birthday on August 15th than a ANTHRAX gig? [Well, Graspop with backstage passes could come to mind... But, let's do things once at a time!]
Kawasaki, Club Città August 15th 2008: on of the two only date of this New Strain '08 Asian Invasion blitz tour, in preparation for the new album (comming out next year). The second date of the tour will be tomorrow (Aug. 17th) at Dongoucheon (Korea).
Awesome show, dudes!!
The house was filled up to the top with metal thrashing mainacs... Anthrax ramming everybody asses like never before; pit in delirium... people raining like hell all the time... guess a 50 degrees C, 200% humidity... In few words: pure BEDLAM! I am not very proficient in Anthrax tracks titles, but if I remember well the set list was as follows:
1. IndiansI tell you: we sweat out our asses there yesterday! Never seen something like that, even in my hardest workout sessions! I was frontstage all the time; horns in the air and headbanging to death; got my glasses almost destroyed when a huge falla' landed on my head from the back (you would wonder "Why were you wearing glasses in a place like that?"... you're right, after that moment I started questioning myself too!). When the show was over we were soaking wet: from the top of my just cut hair, through my pants, 'till the shoes!! The t-shirt you see in the pic, I HAD to buy it (happy I did it... I didn't notice the special back print) to get home like a "human"! [3 Inches of Sweat trophy was wannabe stuff in comparison... cfr. previous posts).
2. Got The Time
3. Caught In A Mosh
4. Madhouse
5. Antisocial
6. Random Acts Of Senseless Violence
7. Room For One More
8. Fueled
9. Safe Home
10. What Doesn't Die
11. Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't (Kick-ass track from new album)
12. Only
---------
13. A New Level(PANTERA)
14 I Am The Law
I would have liked to stalk for the guys after the gig, but I badly needed a drink and some rest... Guess I'm getting to old for that shit!
By the way, a never-heard-before Cocobat band (Jap.) opened for them. Don't know why they where there: completely unrelated and absolutly unable to get the people in the mood. They had some groovy bass work, but the singer was looking at the tip of his shoes all the time... expresionless... without showing any pleasure to be there; the guitar man, instead of jamming for the crowd, stuck with the drummer all the time; only the bassist gave us some feeling. No chat, no scream, no self-introduction... C'mon guys: you're opening for Anthrax... I could have done better singing a cover on karaoke, damn!
Ah, no pics this time. No glasses on that spot, not even digital cameras!
"Who's next?" used to say Goldberg... Hellhound is next (on 30th)! Yet again, yeah!

Booty Sampler • July 2008 (vol. 2)
With some delay, but finally I did it!
The original version was better. Indeed this came out a bit curtailed... Regreattably the software I used before (very simple and fast) decided not to work anymore with the updated iTunes and I had to use another one: more bothering and timeconsuming. And in the mess a few tracks I chosed, were left out (not by me, of course)! But Paganini non ripete. So you get sampler the way it is!
A kick-ass anyway! Have fun!BOOTY SAMPLER INTRO-July (2) • MOTORHEAD-Motorizer (2008) • BURDEN A.D.-Anno Dominator (2008) • CHROME DIVISION-Booze, Broad and Beelzebub (2008) • AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE-Total Brutal (2008) • THE SEVENTH POWER-Dominion and Power (2008) • OMNIUM GATHERUM-Redshift (2008) • EQUILIBRIUM-Sagas (2008) • INALLSENSES-The Experience (2008) • VERSAILLES-Noble (2008) • NEURAXIS-Trilateral Progression (2005) • BRAIN DRILL-Apocalyptic Feasting (2008) • SOULFLY-Conquer (2008) • DIVINEFIRE-Farewell (2008) • JEFF LOOMIS-Zero Order Phase (2008) • PORT ROYAL OUTRO-July (2)

Booty Delivery!
What goes around comes around...!
Here is what was comming in Cpt. chest lately. Some very fine pieces.
DAVID SHANKLE GROUP-Hellborn (2007): for those of you who like "groovy" guitar works! Manowar really missed a diamond head with him!
GATES OF WINTER-Lux Aeterna (2008): this stuff grabs you slowly. It said "progressive", but it's much more... growls, feamale singing, slow, fast pieces...
BURDEN A.D.-Anno Dominator (2008): I love this one! Got stuck with it lately and can't get hold of it yet. Thrash from Finland. Awesome rythm, ripping sound and screamy voice. Not all the pieces are equallly catchy... but you surely will have much fun with it!
METALLICA-Live At Great Woods Center (2008): I hate these guys, but - like it or not - they did some great music... and we wouldn't be around without them. So think about those pieces and try to enjoy them! Soundboard...? You can get more HERE!
BENEDICTION-Killing Music (2008): some Death m. from U.K. Telling the truth, I'm not much for death stuff, but from time to time a good kick in the ass makes my pleasure and these guys have the right numbers!

HELLHOUND at Loud&Proud vol. 213
Dudes! Like a pig in the mud!!
What a nice way to end a week of piracy: alone in the port for ten days, pizza in the belly and my preferred mastif from hell - Hellhound - in my face, at Crescendo live house! I love those boys!
Din't manage to be on time for all the other bands sheduled to appear (Dollache, Freaksxx, Assertion, Apologist), nor I even tried to: show started at 17:30, but seas patroling and pizza refill proved to be longer than expected. So I ended up there around 20:00 just in time get the closing of Apologist's show. And luckyly! Because I have to confess that little could be more far away from me than their music (a rather unappealing black/death m.). Yet the singer is a real character and I relly laughed out my lungs at his jokes and friendly thrash talk!
Anyway, Hellhound wiped out the place! Started as usual with buddy Crossfire sipping from a bottle of old Jack D. and the show didn't last very long, but they hit our asses with a battery of classics plus a couple of shells from the new album (out on Sept. 9.). The titles are already a program: "Metal Psycho" (cool pun played on the English psycho and the Jap. SAIKO, which means "awesome, the best") and "M.E.T.A.L Education". By the way, a free sample CD with a rough mix of the two new tracks was awaiting each headbanger at the entrance (check it out •HERE•). The house wasn't really filled up, but everybody went on fu*king fire! Dudes, they're pure old school heavy metal... A mix of Anvil, Exciter, Raven... So simple, so immadiate, so catchy, but so freaky incredible! Horns up and busted neck even without alcohoolics! I'll tell you, I'm seriously considering the possibility of a raid to Germany, to check them out where they're going to play this November. I just need two busy months as this past July, and you can bet your ass I'll be on my way! And then go back and forth to L.A. every 2 months, of course!
But I love them even more, because after the gig, when I went to greet them at their merch. stand, buddy Swordmaster called me aside and gave me a very nice souvenir: the video bootleg of one of January 20th gig I missed! Hot stuff, guys: the original film of the two crammy vids currently on yT (check below)! Port Royal brotherhood can get it complete from the server, obviously. Blog sailors, instead, will get only the yT teaser below for now.
