What goes around comes around...!
Here is what was comming in Cpt. chest lately. Some very fine pieces.
DAVID SHANKLE GROUP-Hellborn (2007): for those of you who like "groovy" guitar works! Manowar really missed a diamond head with him!
GATES OF WINTER-Lux Aeterna (2008): this stuff grabs you slowly. It said "progressive", but it's much more... growls, feamale singing, slow, fast pieces...
BURDEN A.D.-Anno Dominator (2008): I love this one! Got stuck with it lately and can't get hold of it yet. Thrash from Finland. Awesome rythm, ripping sound and screamy voice. Not all the pieces are equallly catchy... but you surely will have much fun with it!
METALLICA-Live At Great Woods Center (2008): I hate these guys, but - like it or not - they did some great music... and we wouldn't be around without them. So think about those pieces and try to enjoy them! Soundboard...? You can get more HERE!
BENEDICTION-Killing Music (2008): some Death m. from U.K. Telling the truth, I'm not much for death stuff, but from time to time a good kick in the ass makes my pleasure and these guys have the right numbers!

HELLHOUND at Loud&Proud vol. 213
Dudes! Like a pig in the mud!!
What a nice way to end a week of piracy: alone in the port for ten days, pizza in the belly and my preferred mastif from hell - Hellhound - in my face, at Crescendo live house! I love those boys!
Din't manage to be on time for all the other bands sheduled to appear (Dollache, Freaksxx, Assertion, Apologist), nor I even tried to: show started at 17:30, but seas patroling and pizza refill proved to be longer than expected. So I ended up there around 20:00 just in time get the closing of Apologist's show. And luckyly! Because I have to confess that little could be more far away from me than their music (a rather unappealing black/death m.). Yet the singer is a real character and I relly laughed out my lungs at his jokes and friendly thrash talk!
Anyway, Hellhound wiped out the place! Started as usual with buddy Crossfire sipping from a bottle of old Jack D. and the show didn't last very long, but they hit our asses with a battery of classics plus a couple of shells from the new album (out on Sept. 9.). The titles are already a program: "Metal Psycho" (cool pun played on the English psycho and the Jap. SAIKO, which means "awesome, the best") and "M.E.T.A.L Education". By the way, a free sample CD with a rough mix of the two new tracks was awaiting each headbanger at the entrance (check it out •HERE•). The house wasn't really filled up, but everybody went on fu*king fire! Dudes, they're pure old school heavy metal... A mix of Anvil, Exciter, Raven... So simple, so immadiate, so catchy, but so freaky incredible! Horns up and busted neck even without alcohoolics! I'll tell you, I'm seriously considering the possibility of a raid to Germany, to check them out where they're going to play this November. I just need two busy months as this past July, and you can bet your ass I'll be on my way! And then go back and forth to L.A. every 2 months, of course!
But I love them even more, because after the gig, when I went to greet them at their merch. stand, buddy Swordmaster called me aside and gave me a very nice souvenir: the video bootleg of one of January 20th gig I missed! Hot stuff, guys: the original film of the two crammy vids currently on yT (check below)! Port Royal brotherhood can get it complete from the server, obviously. Blog sailors, instead, will get only the yT teaser below for now.

At the Gates Suicidal Final Tour 2008
Boys,
Wow, what a night on Sunday!
A band that needs no introduction is, At the Gates reuniting for the first time in 12 years, to do their last show in Los Angeles at the Fonda Theater. The lineup was as follows: Municipal Waste, Darkest Hour, Repulsion, and At The Gates.
Municipal Waste blew everyone away with their party attitude, I love these guys. At the Gates joined them on stage, last song, for a chorus of "Municipal waste is gonna fuck you up!" Next was Darkest Hour, a band I have seen a few times. I don't know what it is, they don't do it for me. Guitar player is pretty good, but songs don't stick for me. Next was Repulsion, a band from 20 years ago, they were grinding as hard as ever, very cool to see them! Then was the headliners, At the Gates: they ripped with perfection through a setlist of 75 minutes and ended almost at 12:30. It was astonishing and an honor to see them play. The crowd was crazy, bodies flying everywhere!! Highlight of the night was Johnny met Anders Bjorler ('hero of mine', The Haunted, At the Gates). Coming soon in Sept., The Haunted album coming soon called Versus, please be on the lookout. See pics and until next time!!
